How to Convert a File to PDF

Open your preferred Web browser and visit the Zamzar website. Zamzar provides free file conversion to and from a variety of file types. For example, convert Word, Excel, PowerPoint or HTML files to PDF format. This solution works particularly well if you don't need to convert files frequently.

Download and install PrimoPDF Free Edition. PrimoPDF is available in a free and Pro edition. The free edition installs a special virtual printer that lets you create PDF files from any application with the capability to print documents. It also includes a drag-and-drop interface for quick PDF creation.

Purchase and install Adobe Acrobat Standard or Pro. This is the most expensive solution, but it does provide a wide array of features. At the time of publication, Acrobat Standard is available for approximately $300.
