Make Your Own Face Mask
Make Your Own Face Mask

Making your own face mask is very simple. You can use whatever you have in your house to create a mix that is suitable for your skin type. If you have dry skin then cucumber, vitamin E, and a touch of lemon can do the trick. If you have oily skin then try some banana and honey. The great thing about making your own mask is that you can try various mixtures and even if you don't get it right, it will still be good for your skin! Also you will be saving a lot of money since buying already made facial masks can be somewhat expensive if you compare the price to homemade masks. Here are some recipes for you to try out!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cucumber
  • Vitamin E gel capsules
  • Lemon
  • Honey
  • Bananas
  • Yogurt
  • Blender
  1. Step 1

If you have dry or damaged skin due to the winter weather then here is what you'll need to do: take a peeled cucumber and using a blender, blend it to a liquid. Take one vitamin E gel capsule and, with a knife, cut a small hole and squeeze the contents on to the blended cucumber. Add one teaspoon of lemon and blend the mix again. If you want the mix to be thicker then add around a tablespoon of honey and blend some more. Your face mask is ready to use! Keep it on your face for 10-15 minutes and try to use this recipe every other day for best results. The cucumber will hydrate dry skin, the vitamin E will repair damaged skin, the lemon will cleanse your pores, and the honey will give your face a firm touch. It's perfect!

  2. Step 2

If you have oily skin then try using super-ripe bananas, honey, and lemon or orange juice. Mix around 2 ripe bananas with one tablespoon of honey. Add a splash or orange or lemon juice to keep the bananas from changing colors. Apply on your face for 10-15 minutes. Use daily for best results.

  3. Step 3

This facial mask recipe is one that is suitable for all skin types. All you need is one tablespoon of yogurt, full fat, and one teaspoon of honey, preferably heated to make it soft and runny. Mix these two ingredients and apply on your face for 15 minutes. Wipe your face with a steaming washcloth once you're done. If you have oily skin then add a teaspoon of lemon and if you have dry skin then add an extra teaspoon of honey.

Tips & Warnings
  • The great thing about making your own face mask is the fact that you can store your mixture in air tight jars for around a week before making a new batch. Just make sure that you don't get the mixture contaminated. Use a spoon to scoop out the mix and place it in a bowl, and from the bowl apply it on your face. It's easy, it's refreshing, and it's cheap! It's perfect!
