How to Make Hemp Lip Balm

Hemp lip balm can be home made and provide a safe and natural alternative to commercial lip balms. It can provide your lips with moisture and shine while being economical. It can help with chapped, dry winter lips.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• 1/4 cup of beeswax
• 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
• Hemp Essential oils
• Essential oils
• Microwave
• Organic Ingredients
• Small glass jar

1. Purchase all ingredients before you start preparing the lip balm and place each nearby at a clean work station. Also, decide where you will store the hemp lip balm to keep it fresh and at room temperature and keep the balm from melting.

2. Heat the vegetable oil and beeswax in a double boiler (or use a microwave). Monitor until the mixture is melted but not boiling. Remove from the heat carefully (use oven mittens) and whip the mixture until you get a creamy texture.

3. Add the hemp essential oil and mix a little before pouring the mixture in a small container or lip tubes. Once the hemp lip balm has reached a solid state you can use a small knife to keep the lip balm more uniform. Use as desired.

Tips & Warnings

• Hemp oil works well with jojoba oil and vitamin E.
• Use the lip balm within 3-6 months.
• Store the hemp lip balm aware from heat sources such as the stove.
• Keep the lip balm separate to keep from cross-contamination.
• Use as a sunscreen and wind protector for your lips.
• Wash hands and utensils before creating your lip balm.

on 4/1/2009 hemp has wonderful way to moisturize and soften your skin, so I would think that the lip balm would be very nice
