We all have those delicate treasures around our house. The pretty crystal vases, the fancy punch bowl, the dishes we inherited from our mothers or grandmothers. They aren't only delicate and breakable but they are priceless because of the memories they carry with them. So when it's time to move packing those delicate items correctly is essential! Follow these steps to keep your treasures safe.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

First you should gather all of your delicate and breakable items together in one area that is large enough for you to work comfortably. Select an low traffic area in your home where items will not get bumped and knocked over.

  2. Step 2

First wrap the item in newspaper. If you are packing a vase or glass make sure you stuff it with newspaper.

  3. Step 3

Once the item is wrapped in newspaper you should then wrap the item with bubble wrap. It would be best to wrap the bubble wrap around your item two times to provide a nice cushioned layer around your delicate items.

  4. Step 4

Now that the item is wrapped in both the newspaper and the bubble wrap you should secure the wrapping with a piece of packing tape. For larger items you may need to use several pieces of tape to hold the wrapping securely.

  5. Step 5

Now you should place your items into a sturdy box. Make sure you don't overfill the box. You don't want it to be to heavy as that would increase the likelihood of the box being dropped.

  6. Step 6

Now that the box is filled with your delicate items place bubble wrap and balled up newspapers into the box. Make sure you place enough bubble wrap and newspapers around the items to hold them in place so they don't shift much during transport.

  7. Step 7

Tape the box shut and label the box as fragile. Move the items carefully and your delicate treasures will be kept safe!
