However, there are things you can do at home to ease the symptoms of acid reflux disease that are easy.

  • Aloe Vera juice
  • Chamomile
  • Licorice root powder

  1. Step 1

Eat a good healthy diet every day to treat acid reflux disease. Avoid fatty foods, chocolate, pasta, tobacco, alcohol, and caffeine to treat and prevent acid reflux disease.

  2. Step 2

Eat certain foods before bedtime to prevent heartburn before it happens. Such foods include almonds, bananas, pineapples, vinegar, peppermint, and papaya. These are all good foods to treat acid reflux disease symptoms.

  3. Step 3

Use herbs to treat acid reflux disease. Herbs are easy and cheap home remedies and are better for you than prescription medications. Different kinds of herbs to use to treat acid reflux disease include anise, lavender, chicory, licorice, and tumeric. These herbs can be found in health food stores and eaten or made into a tea to drink for the treatment of acid reflux disease.

  4. Step 4

Drink a couple of ounces of Aloe Vera juice to treat frequent heartburn and acid reflux disease. A lot of people have had success using Aloe Vera juice for the fast relief of frequent heartburn. You can find Aloe Vera juice in many health food stores.

  5. Step 5

Elevate the head of your bed by 8 to 10 inches to help gravity keep stomach juices from flowing back up to the esophagus. Some people elevate their bed by placing pillows, wedges, or bricks under the upper part of the mattress. It is not enough to just use two pillows under your head.

  6. Step 6

Make a tea with chamomile or lavender by simmering one teaspoon of licorice root powder for 15 minutes in a pan with one cup of water. Then add one teaspoon of chamomile or lavender, cover and let sit for another 10 minutes. Use a strainer to remove the grounds and drink while warm. People have had success with warm chamomile or lavender tea for the treatment of acid reflux disease.
