Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 cans of French style green beans(any brand)
  • 2 cans golden mushroom soup (I prefer Campbell's)
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 small can/jar of sliced mushrooms (any brand)
  • 4 strips of bacon
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  1. Step 1

Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Step 2

In a medium size frying pan fry the 4 strips of bacon until brown and crispy. Remove the bacon from the drippings and place on a paper towel to drain and cool.

  3. Step 3

Add the chopped onion to the bacon drippings and cook over medium heat until the onions are tender and turn translucent.

  4. Step 4

Crumble three strips of the cooked bacon into the frying pan with the onions, and add the mushrooms.

  5. Step 5

Add the two cans of golden mushroom soup to the onions, bacon and mushrooms in the frying pan and heat over medium heat, until the mixture comes to a full boil. Remove from heat and set aside.

  6. Step 6

Open the three cans of green beans and drain off all of the liquid. Pour the drained green beans into a large casserole dish.

  7. Step 7

Pour the contents of your frying pan over the green beans in the casserole dish and stir gently. Crumble the remaining strip of bacon on the top of the green bean casserole, directly in the middle of the casserole.

  8. Step 8

Sprinkle the ½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top of your green bean casserole on the outer edges. Making sure that the bacon in the center is showing.

  9. Step 9

Place the green bean casserole in a pre-heated oven and bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the green bean casserole is heated through.

  10. Step 10

Green bean casserole is the perfect accompaniment to any meal, but it especially goes great with, turkey, corn bread dressing and giblet gravy. Add mashed potatoes, fruit salad and brown and serve rolls. UMM UMM good.
