Step 1
Quit smoking. Smokers are 50% more likely to miscarry and the eggs of smokers are more likely to have genetic abnormalities. Additionally, smokers are four times as likely to have ectopic pregnancies once they do get pregnant.
-
Step 2
Give up alcohol. Women who consume more than 3 drinks daily are more likely to have trouble getting pregnant than non-drinkers. Not to mention, once you do get pregnant, alcohol increases your chances of miscarriage and can lead to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
-
Step 3
Refrain from using recreational drugs. Drugs such as marijuana can cause abnormalities in your eggs which make it more difficult to get pregnant. Once you do get pregnant, even casual drug users are more likely to miscarry or have an early delivery than women who abstain completely.
-
Step 4
Limit your caffeine intake. Studies have shown that caffeine not only makes it more difficult to get pregnant, but can lead to miscarriage.
-
Step 5
Avoid douching. This can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease which can damage the fallopian tubes and make it nearly impossible to get pregnant.
