What is one reason women get vaginal(Vulva) cuts on the labia. How do you cure fissures (cuts).

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Have you noticed small painful cuts around the vagina on your labia? They look like paper cuts. First step is get to a doctor. This could be what is called fissures.

  2. Step 2

Fissures, cuts or what sometimes look like small tears can be very painful. If they appear after you have had a baby it could be a drop in your estrogen level. This can sometimes explain why it can also happens to women around their period.

  3. Step 3

If you want to try something before going to the doctor there are a couple things you can use and purchase at a grocery store. 1. Use Tucks or Hemorrhoidal pad (with witch hazel) to wipe the labia. This can give you temporary relief of discomfort, burning, and irritation and helps to cleanse the area. 2. Spray a little Dermoplast (antibacterial pain relieving spray) on the pad and wipe area. Do NOT wipe on the inside of vigina this is just for external use. Try this for a week and if no improvement go to step 5.

  4. Step 4

Take note if they reappear around your monthly cycle. Or if you have noticed other issues as sometimes they can accompany an infection.
After having a baby your estrogen levels drop and can make the skin in the vaginal area thin and dry.

  5. Step 5

Your doctor can prescribe an ointment (vaginal cream) called Premarin (estrogens, conjugated). You apply the ointment at night for 14 days then three times per week until it's healed which might take a extended time if you are breast feeding or pumping.

  6. Step 6

Do NOT take if you have blood clots, breast cancer, liver disease, recent heart attack, tumor where estrogen makes it grow, or stroke. Please talk to your doctor as there my be other reasons for you not to use the cream.
