How to Create Cupcake Wedding Favors

Instructions

1. Make a list of items you will need. You need to know how many guests, what flavor of cupcakes and frosting. The colors for decorations and ribbon. Card stock or white self stick computer labels for cupcake boxes. Contact your local grocery store bakery to see how far in advance you will need to place your order. Once you have everything you need, cupcakes can be decorated up to 2 days before the wedding. They will need to be properly stored. You can box them the night before the wedding.

   Creating tags for the cupcake boxes is very easy. Simply use the printable self stick computer labels in any shape you choose. Print the bride and grooms names along with the date. These act not only as the gift tag but as a seal for the individual cupcake box as well. You cake also affix ribbon around the box using the label to hold it together. Your labels can be purchased in white or a color or shape that accents the wedding theme. If you choose not to you labels you may also make tags using card stock. Print bride and grooms names. Date and short message. Cut out and use a craft punch to punch a hole in the tag and add tag to ribbon or bow that will be attached to cupcake wedding favor box.

   Ribbon, cupcake wedding favor boxes and tissue paper. The cupcake boxes that you choose should display the cupcake. Choose a clear box or a box with a look through top. Place a piece of tissue paper folded to fit under the cupcake. This will keep your cupcakes from moving around in the box too much. Cut ribbon to fit around box , if you want to tie a bow in the ribbon try it , measure it and cut each piece in advance. Anything you can do ahead of time will cut down your time in the end.    Cupcakes should be ordered with enough time to decorate and package. The easiest route to take would be to order plain frosted store bakery cupcakes. The decorations you can add yourself. You can use a variety of simple touches. Edible dust and glitter are easy to use as well as edible pearls. They both come in a wide variety of colors and are available both online, cake decorating supply stores and at most party supply stores as well. If you are having a theme wedding , for example a beach setting or a heart theme you can choose decorations to match. Keep in mind that the decorations should be small. Tall or wide accents may not fit into the box. Also you may choose to decorate the cupcakes with items that you have prepared yourself. Such as edible flowers.    If you are making the cupcakes for your cupcake wedding favors yourself keep in mind that they will have to be stored properly. You will want to bake all of the cupcakes in advance and frost them the day before the wedding. If you choose to do this and want your cupcakes to have a professionally frosted look use a pastry bag and tip. They can be purchased anywhere cake decorating supplies are sold. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time. Make a trial batch first to get the hang of frosting your cupcakes too. If you wait until the last minute you will find that you are not having fun. If you have to seal the box with the ribbon and label have all pieces measured cut and ready to go. Take your time with each cupcake. Place folded tissue paper in the bottom of every box and gently place cupcakes in boxes. When cupcakes are ready to go pat your self on the back.
