Step 1
Know the Product - Naturally you should have spent some time using the product before you attempt to write a review of it. The more time, the better since your opinions and experiences can change the more you use the product.
-
Step 2
Post on an Appropriate Forum – Find a forum (i.e. a website) that is appropriate and relevant to the product you will be reviewing. There are a myriad of websites that offer consumers a place to post reviews spanning a wide range of products.
-
Step 3
Disclose all Information Identifying the Product – Make sure you give the exact name of the product, brand name, and company that manufactures it, if applicable. This information should be given first so the reader knows the exact product you are referring to.
-
Step 4
Give Reasons, Not Just Feelings – Simply saying that you are unhappy with a product or that it worked great doesn’t suffice; readers need to know why you feel the way you do towards the product. What does the product promise? Does it fulfill that promise? Why or why not? Always backup any claims you make with specific details and substantial information.
-
Step 5
Be Positive and Negative – To really write an unbiased and fair review, write both the positive and negative qualities about the product and be honest as possible.
-
Step 6
Who Would Benefit – Based on your observations and review, state who the product would benefit and be a good value for and why. For example, if you’re reviewing inexpensive shampoo that delivers salon-like quality, perhaps it would provide the best value for women looking for affordable hair care products.
