Want Skype for iPhone? Skype users with iPhones can now download the popular VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) application directly to their iPhones, allowing them to use Apple's interface to:

*make free iPhone calls to other Skype users if you're within range of a WiFi network (Skype iPhone calls will not work over the cell network)
*make inexpensive calls to landlines within WiFi range
*jump into conference calls already in progress (won't be able to initiate conference calls)

Things You'll Need:

  • iPhone
  • Skype account
  • Skype for iPhone application
  • embedded microphone (iPhone users)
  1. Step 1

    To get Skype for iPhone: if you don't already have a Skype account, you can download Skype to your computer free at the Skype website. Set up your account and find contacts from around the world. Add as many contacts as you want to your Skype account.

  2. Step 2

    Now you're ready to get Skype for iPhone. Go to the iTunes Store or App Store on your iPhone and type "Skype" in the search box. Now download the application and sync your iPhone to apply the Skype for iPhone update.

  3. Step 3

    You're ready to use Skype for iPhone. Log in using your Skype account information and starting Skyping all your friends right away.

Tips & Warnings
  • iPod Touch users who want to download Skype for iPhone will need earphones with an embedded microphone to talk to their callers. They can still use Skype's chatting features without the mic, if they've downloaded Skype for iPhone.
