How to Get Rid of Urine Smells in Carpet
Cats and dogs make great pets, but accidents can happen. However it is relatively cheap and easy to remove cat and dog urine, urine stains, and urine smells from your carpet when they do have an accident. Does this Spark an idea?

First get a box of baking soda and spread it over the entire rug. Let it sit for approximately 10 minutes and then use a brush to rub it into the carpet and let it sit for another 10 minutes.

Get your vacuum and vacuum through the entire rug and repeat each area at least 3 times to ensure that you get all the baking soda up.

Get a Kirby or other carpet shampoo device and shampoo the entire carpet.

Allow the carpet to dry completely and then repeat steps 1 and 2 one last time. The baking soda helps absorb some of the odor similar to what it does when you put it into your refrigerator to get rid of oil there.

Get some carpet sanitizer and spread it over the carpet and get a brush and rub it in. This will help get rid of any remaining odor and take care of some of the odor from future accidents.

Tips & Warnings
Schedule a few hours to get rid of the odor
Keep the other animals out until you have eliminated the odor, so they do not stake claim
Use a carpet sanitizer after eliminating the odor to preemptively eliminate future odors.
