Step 1
Make sure all office plant displays are near good natural light, such as a sky light or window. This is especially important for flowering plants. If this is impossible, then a mixture of fluorescent and incandescent light is the best artificial lighting solution for office plants.
-
Step 2
Try to keep office plants away from heating and cooling ducts. extremes of temperature will cause the foliage to brown.
-
Step 3
Learn the names of your plants and research the watering requirements of each one. If you have an office plant service, they can tell you. Most cacti, succulents, and desert plants need to be watered monthly. Other potted plants need watering once every one or two week. The larger the pot, the more infrequently you should water to avoid saturation.
-
Step 4
Be on the look out for office plants that have perpetually wet soil. This is a sign of over watering and can lead to mold growth. A healthy pot should look dry or slightly damp between waterings.
-
Step 5
Once a year change the soil in all your office plants to renew the nutrients in the soil. If the roots are in a tight tangle, it's a sing that you should upgrade to a bigger pot.
