JUST DO IT, STUPID!
JUST DO IT, STUPID!

If you want to make 10 times your current income in the next six months, or even secure your position in a precarious market, the only way to do it is to become the "Expert" in your field- in the next two months. By becoming the "Expert", this does not mean that you will be necessarily "better" than your competition; this is certainly a lofty goal, but unfortunately, there will always be someone with more experience than you. By "becoming the Expert" I mean become you must become what the paying public PERCEIVES as the "Expert", in order to choose your services over that of your growing competition. This article will show you how to become the Guru of your profession and reap the subsequent rewards.
While there are several ways to achieve Expert status, most avenues are expensive and time consuming, requiring years of 16 hour work days and extra schooling. I mean, you've got to keep your day job right?
There is only one sure-fire way to insure that you skyrocket above the competition soon and that is for you to write a How To Book on your professional subject matter in the shortest time-frame possible.

Don’t believe me? I went from $25,000 a year to making over $300,000 within 18 months of writing my Profession- Specific-How-To Book. Before my book published, I was a rookie with 2-years in, working 16 hour days 7 days per week!
Now, There are many long, arduous ways for you to mirror my success and there is only one short way to do it. The long way involves trying to figure out what to write about, while waiting for that illusive muse to bring on the inspiration; maybe writing a few book proposals to editors and then waiting for that long line of rejection letters to pour in (because your field is "too specialized" to sell millions of books) and then ofcourse, taking years to finish the manuscript, and that's if you even finish it at all.
The short way involves writing your book very quickly (you already know what you want to say, anyway) and publishing it yourself- this is so easy to do and the results are far better than anything you can get from being the newbie author at one of the major book publishing companies.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You'll Need:

  • To Be Hungry for Success
  1. Step 1

Write the Outline. You have got to make an outline, otherwise you can just forget the whole thing. There are many great eHow articles on how to do this. In the interest of saving you time, remember you have to write it fast- BEFORE your competitors read this article, I suggest you read my eHow article on How to Write Your Book Outline in just a few minutes, mentioned in the Resources section below.

  2. Step 2

Now, write the Book. No, I'm not being funny, if you did a proper outline in the first place, this part will be a breeze, too. Just remember: 200 pages, 20 Chapters, 10 pages per Chapter, lots of graphs and directories means you only really have to write 8 pages (max.) per Chapter. If you did the outline, 8 pages per Chapter will be a joke.

  3. Step 3
    WE WANT YOU!
    WE WANT YOU!

For every subject you don't know thoroughly, don't even waste time with research, just interview a competent professional in a related field. For example, for your Real Estate book you may wish to interview a Real Estate Attorney for an entire Chapter. They will all be too happy to get the extra PR exposure that comes with being prominently featured in your book. Another added benefit of letting non-competing professionals handle tough sections of your book, in this way, is the Implied Endorsement this creates. Also, get book reviews from other professionals in complementary fields. If you are a Realtor get reviews from Closing agents, re lawyers, mortgage people etc. Remember the power of Implied Endorsements.

  4. Step 4

Get an ISBN number from the Library of Congress to make it official and an On-Demand, Digital Self-Publishing Company that offers cover art, press releases, editing and publishing packages. Many charge less than $500 for the whole package and will even plug your book for you on Amazon, at most Online booksellers and in brick-and-mortar Bookstores as well. All for 1 low price! Subsequent copies should not cost your more than $1 per book.
Many of these companies will also get the ISDN number for you too, ask them first.

  5. Step 5
    Work the Crowd!
    Work the Crowd!

While waiting for you first published book copy to arrive, go ahead and place the book' s cover image on all of your promotional items, business cards, website, along with links to Amazon.com and your website. Write and send your press release to the local Newspapers , Trade Magazines, Clubs to which you belong and your Chamber of Commerce. Schedule speaking engagements with local clubs like Kiwanis, Rotary, even Supermarkets, whatever. These groups are often desperately seeking inexpensive to free, Expert Speakers and Viola, you’re the Expert.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do understand, that you are not writing this book to get rich from selling book copies, you are writing this book to become the "Expert"; You are writing this to be quotable by journalists and command astronomical fees for your products and consulting services, while suddenly, having more clients than you know what to do with; all the while getting richer everyday doing the work that you love.
  • Once you see how well this works, you might decide to give the book away for free! The real money comes from all the people who read your book, read news articles about you, the Expert, in Industry Publications and then call you for your services.
  • One last thing, if you're a (professional), you know how important writing a book is. For more resources on Fast Book Writing visit the FREE REPORT Resource links below.
  • Do not edit ANYTHING until you have written the entire book
  • Do not let anyone read it or even know what your up to until then either
  • Never admit to anyone that it took you only 2 weeks to write your book. They won't believe you and they will be happier thinking you suffered and that it took a year of burning the midnight oil to make it happen.
