Things You'll Need:
- Intuition
- Good Relationship/w
- Teachers
-
Step 1
First, Watch out for patterns, how often are they coming down with symptoms? Is every couple of weeks that they complain about fevers, or stomach aches? Is this something new for your child? Is your child normally never sick? If there is a pattern check temperature and recheck within 15 minutes.
-
Step 2
Second, Stay in good relationship with teachers. Is there any changes going on at school, bullies, problems with school work, not making friends, or is there new friends in the picture. Has there been changes in behavior? Check with close friends of your child to see if they have same symptoms, not only does this help to determine if there are any illness going around school, but also if child is trying to stay home with a buddy.
-
Step 3
Watch medicines, control medicine cabinets, some children may reduce to taking pills to induce sickness just to feel bad and stay home. Teens especially can be creative with vomiting, check pantry for missing vegetable soup to make parents think they can't hold any foods down.
Not as mechanical as making fake body in bed like Ferris, but creative just the same.
