Decorating a Christmas tree can be a tedious task. There's the lights, ornaments, garland, and the star to be mounted on the top. The task that many people dread is stringing the Christmas light on the tree. However, it can actually be done in a quick and easy manner.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Set up your tree in the room you wish it to stay in. Leave enough space between it and the wall so that you can freely walk around it.

  2. Step 2

Remove the indoor lights from their box. Most sets come wrapped in a circle. Slide your hand through the center of the wound light set. Check the bulbs by plugging it in before attempting to string the lights on the tree.

  3. Step 3

Unplug the lights before stringing, as they will get hot in your hand. Leave enough room between the outlet and the tree so that you will be able to plug them in when finished.

  4. Step 4

Start by stringing the lights on the bottom branches of the tree. Weave the lights above and below the branches loosely as you walk around the tree so they will stay in place.

  5. Step 5

When you have finished the first strand of lights, plug the new set into them, and repeat the weaving process. Once you reach the top, leave enough slack to plug in the tree topper if needed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to test each strand of lights before stringing them on the tree.
  • Don't weave the strands too tightly, or it will look like you skimped on the lights.
