Things You'll Need:

  • Drag Race Car, Drag Race Helmet, Guts, and Winning Attitude.
  1. Step 1

Get to the drag race track early to practice. Get as many time runs in as you can can during this process. Allow enough consistent cool down time between drag racing runs. Your cool down time should simulate the amount of time you have to cool down during racing.

  2. Step 2

Pull your car up to practice. Begin by doing a proper burn out. Drag race burn outs should be consistent and provide just enough heat to get the tire sticky. Don't over-do it here, or you may lose traction.

  3. Step 3

Pull up to the line to stage. Pull up slowly and make sure your car is aligned before pulling up. Stay in the sticky groove of the drag race track and then slowly pre-stage. Once your opponent pre-stages, pull up very slowly to just barely turn on the second stage light.

  4. Step 4

Get ready to drag race. Keep your eye focused on the last amber bulb. You will need to take off as soon as this bulb lights. By the time your car gets moving, the light will be green and you should have a good reaction time.

  5. Step 5

During your practice runs, you should make adjustments to get good reaction times. Increase or decrease launch RPM as needed. At the end of practice, review your drag race time slips.

  6. Step 6

Review your time slips to establish your dial in number. You may want to choose your average drag race quarter (or eighth mile time) as your dial in. Running right on your dial is your goal. Write this number on the window of your drag race car.

  7. Step 7

You are now ready to drag race. When you are called up, do your burn out and stage. When the last amber bulb lights, take off. You will now have to watch your opponent during the drag race.

  8. Step 8

If you are ahead of him at the end, let off just before the finish line if you can. Don't let off until you are at the finish line though, or he will pass you.

  9. Step 9

If your opponent manages to pass you at the finish line, wait until he crosses the line, then hit the brakes and slow down. He may have broken out during the drag race. This means he went faster than his dial in.

  10. Step 10

Collect your time slip after the drag race. Once you see that you have won. Pull your car back up to drag race your next opponent. Remember to have fun! You can see more drag tips at www.Supercarracer.com
