Stretch marks have two main causes, pregnancy and weight gain. Stretch marks occur on the hips, breasts, and stomach during pregnancy and thighs when you gain weight. Stretch marks happen during rapid growth which occurs when the skin is stretched too far and the elastic fibers break. Stretch marks can also occur because of hormonal problems, however this does not happen very often. There are things you can do to help minimize stretch marks naturally.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Exercise your legs, buttocks, and thighs everyday. Do twenty leg raises to help minimize the appearance of stretch marks on the hip and leg area. Start by lying down on the floor (use a mat or lay on a thick carpet to make it easier on your back) on your side with your legs straight, one on top of the other. Do twenty leg raises in this position and twenty more with the other leg.

  2. Step 2

Rub cocoa butter on the area where you see stretch marks to help minimize them. Cocoa butter especially helps in dark-skinned women. Although there is no scientific proof that this works, some women have had success with the use of cocoa butter to minimize stretch marks. Use cocoa butter as often as you need until the stretch marks are minimized.

  3. Step 3

Use vitamin E oil or cream to rub on your belly, hips, thighs, breasts, and anywhere else stretch marks are noticeable. Rub it on every day as you notice stretch marks to help minimize them.

  4. Step 4

Apply 100% pure mink oil on any body parts where stretch marks are visible. Do this twice a day until stretch marks are reduced.

  5. Step 5

Apply and massage Vitamin A moisturizer to help minimize the appearance of stretch marks. Vitamin A moisturizer can help speed up new skin cells and may help reduce the appearance of stretch marks when normal body volume is lost. For best results, use Vitamin A moisturizer even after the stretch marks are gone to help prevent them.

Tips & Warnings
  • Hands on massage is another great way to help minimize the appearance of stretch marks. Since massage helps reduce the appearance of scars then it is possible it can also help with minimizing stretch marks.
