This article will show you how to easily draw and CHALK in a beautiful work of art. (even if you can't draw stick figures!)

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • black construction paper
  • glue (regular school glue in the bottle)
  • pencil
  • colored chalk
  1. Step 1

Decide and cut a piece of black construction paper the size you want your finished piece of art to be. I would recommend using a standard frame size in case you want to put it in a frame.

  2. Step 2

With a pencil, draw a design or a picture on the black paper. If you use sketch lines to draw your image, don't worry about erasing them. They will not show up after you use chalk.

  3. Step 3

When you are happy with your picture or design, trace over the pencil lines with glue. Make sure to draw with the glue like a pencil having the orange cap touching the paper. If you drag the bottle away from the glue you will get a solid thick line. If you push the glue bottle through the glue, you will get a double glue line. Leave glue to dry overnight.

  4. Step 4

After the glue has dried, use colored chalk to fill in your entire drawing. Blending the colors adds variety and depth to your art. Be sure to rub the chalk in with your fingers to embed the chalk into the paper. The glue lines will resist the chalk and leave the drawn image outline.

  5. Step 5

PRESTO! A work of art in moments.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can seal your chalk drawing by spraying it with Matte or Gloss finish.
  • When you spray a finish on it, it will seem to ruin it. Don't be alarmed, it will return.
