Things You'll Need:
- A skein of sport weight yarn in the color(s) of your choice.
- A K or 6.5 MM sized crochet hook.
-
Step 1
First, pick your colors. The lighter the color, the more visible your stitches (and your mistakes!) . Using a J sized hook, crochet 130 loose chains.
-
Step 2
When your chains are complete, single crochet in each chain starting from the first chain from hook. Do not “turn” your work for this project. If you don’t crochet, “turning” is the process of switching which side of the garment faces you each time you complete a row. Instead, single crochet around the ends of your chain including your first stitch you began the chain with. Continue this until you reach the desired head band width and fasten off.
-
Step 3
Crochet evenly around the edges using a slip stitch in the color of your choice. For this headband I used earth-day green trim with a white center of one chain and two single crochets on each side.
-
Step 4
Cheyenne is happy with her hair...for once!Wear your headband by first styling your hair. Cross the ends at the nape of the neck towards the side, making sure that it is snug. The great thing about crochet headbands, is that they have holes to conceal bobby pins. These will keep your headband in place all day. I have concealed four in these pics.
