You want to exercise daily, but somehow life seems to keep getting in the way of your exercise plans. What are some steps you can take to ensure that you get at least some exercise and physical activity every single day? Read this article to learn some specific tips about how to exercise daily.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Know that there will be some days when your exercise routine seems to fit perfectly well into the rest of your life. Enjoy these days, because on your busier days, fitting in your daily exercise will be more of a challenge.

  2. Step 2

Consider getting up early to exercise. Many people find that the only way they can be certain that they will be able to exercise on a daily basis is to get their exercise first thing in the morning. Sometimes exercising each morning requires them to get up quite a bit earlier than they are used to doing. On the plus side, once you start getting up earlier on a regular basis, your body will gradually start to grow accustomed to this new routine, and you may even start to enjoy your early morning exercise routine. Indeed, you may discover that getting into a routine of exercising first thing in the morning energizes you, boosts your self esteem, and even puts you in a good mood for the rest of the day. (After all, exercise boosts the production level of your endorphins or "feel good" hormones.)

  3. Step 3

Be aware that exercise gurus and fitness experts know that people sometimes have trouble making time for daily exercise. For this reason, several of them have designed short but intense workouts so that even people who are very pressed for time will be able to squeeze in a daily workout. (For example, Jillian Michaels has designed several tough but targeted and very intense twenty minute workouts.)

  4. Step 4

Sometimes people do not exercise daily because they are bored with their current exercise routines. If this describes you, you may want to shake things up a bit by altering your current exercise routine. (For instance, if you run most days, you may want to try swimming or rollerblading or riding your bike on some days instead.)

  5. Step 5

Try to do something fun for exercise. For instance, if you love playing basketball, join in some of the pick up games at your local park. Or if you have always loved playing soccer, join an adult league. You'll make friends with fellow adult soccer players and get fit in the process. People tend to stick to exercise routines that they enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember that walking counts as exercise. On days when you just don't feel like working out intensely, remember that a good, brisk walk is a valid form of exercise, and it also gets you out into the fresh air.
