Things You'll Need:
- wristwatch
-
Step 1
Using your index and middle fingers place your two fingers on the right side of your neck under you jaw and you can feel your pulse.
-
Step 2
With your watch time how many pulses occur in thirty seconds and then multiply by two, this is your BPM or beats per minute, most humans have a resting, calm and quiet, heart rate of 75 or so. When we exercise that increases your heart rate.
-
Step 3
When you go to the doctor and they check your blood pressure by wrapping a fabric cuff around your arm. There are two measurements that are taken when this happens those are systolic and diastolic pressure which indicate if you have high or low blood pressure. Which can indicate how well your arteries are working. See a doctor if you have more concerns.
