    First, acquire adequate food and water. A simple life should include a healthy diet. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.

    Also eat plenty of grains, nuts, and legumes for a balanced diet. Buying local organic food can also prove to be cheaper.

  3. Step 3

    Second, acquire adequate covering or clothing. A simple life requires enough clothing that you can wear within a week.

  4. Step 4

    Buying moderately priced clothes and maintaining them will help any budget. Avoid buying clothes that need dry cleaning.

    Third, acquire adequate shelter or housing. A simple life only requires housing that provides warmth and a place for meager belongings.

    Buy or rent space that can comfortably house you and your belongings without excess room.
