Homemade flat bread is a delicious treat that kids will love helping to make. Making flat bread at home means you can top it with whatever you are the mood for. Flat bread pizzas don't have to have cheese or sauce so you can really get creative with your toppings. There's no limit to the flat bread pizza combinations that you can come up with. Things You'll Need

  • Large bowl
  • Water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 oz. dried yeast
  • 12 oz. flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Sea salt or kosher salt
  • Pepper
  • Baking sheet
  • Fork

Instructions

      Stir the salt, sugar, olive oil and 1 cup of warm water together in a large bowl. Stir in the yeast dissolved in 1 tbsp. of 105 degrees to 110 degree Fahrenheit water. Add the flour in batches, kneading and mixing the ingredients with your hands until it is completely mixed. Make the dough into a ball.

      Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and place in a warm place so that the dough can rise overnight.

      Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit when you are ready to make your flat bread pizza.

      Divide the dough into tennis ball sized balls. Roll each ball out so that it is 1/2 inch thick. Place the rolled out dough on a lightly floured baking sheet.

      Lightly beat the egg yolk with 2 tbsp. of water. Brush this egg wash onto each piece of dough.

      Prick several sets of holes in each piece of dough with a fork to keep the crust flat during the baking process.

      Sprinkle the dough with salt and pepper and top with toppings of your choice.

      Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
