At the beginning of spring, or at the beginning of each of the seasons, it's always nice to revamp your wardrobe, your toiletries, and your make up kit.

I would include nail polish colors as well.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plastic or Tin Containers
  • All of your make up
  • All of your nail polish
  • Space in your refrigerator
  1. Step 1

Gather all your make up in one area.
I find that using the kitchen table and bringing the trash can over works well during your reorganization.

Divide everything into it's own category.
Separate all your lotions, night creams, foundations, lipsticks, eye shadows, mascaras, nail polish, eye liner' s, lip liner' s, all into their own pile.

  2. Step 2

Set aside all lotions, and skin moisturizer's.
Later you can divide these as well, noting especially if the are sun screens or not.

Organize all the nail polish by color.
White to black, pinks all together, reds all together, odd colors in another group together, and try to go from lightest in color to darkest in color.

Do the same thing for each makeup type group.

  3. Step 3

In the winter time all the colors you tend to use may be a little darker, or suited for the dramatic blacks, and darker fashion shades of winter, and fall.

All the colors you use in spring and summer will probably be somewhat lighter or brighter in color.

Go through each group of everything, and make sure none of it is old, dried out, or beyond it's use date.
Toss it if it is immediately!
Do not share any of your personal old make up with anyone.
Don't give it away, or give it to the kids, or even a close personal friend, just throw it away.

You don't want your old make up and neither will they.

While you go through it all pull the fresh colors for your season aside, and the other colors will go into a container you can keep in the refrigerator to prevent melting or spoiling.

The new pile you've created you can keep in another container out for use.

Swap everything around once in a while.
Just because most of your colors with regards make up and nail polish are spring or summer colors, go ahead and include a few darker colors, for dramatic evening wear, and vice versa for fall and winter, included in the opposite pile.

Now your make up and nail polish kits have been updated, and you won't need but a few minutes to freshen up, look great, and go!

Tips & Warnings
  • You may want to make a note of what you're out of or need more of or any new product you've been wanting to try and are getting low on.
