Things You'll Need:
- money
- time
-
Step 1
Go to your local orthodontist or dentist and get the under bite checked out. It can be one of three classes so confirm that it is an class 3 malocclusion.
-
Step 2
Go to multiple dentists and orthodontist to evaluate your situation. This is to ensure quality of judgement. You don't want to go into surgery for something that can be fixed by braces.
-
Step 3
Check with dentist to see if any of the costs are covered by insurance. Most under bites are deemed cosmetic so ask the dentist about it.
-
Step 4
An under bite means some of your facial muscles are not used as much-such as the cheeks. To avoid flat cheeks, try to make a "rat" expression where your front teeth protrudes forward. Obviously don't do this in public unless you want to be up for mental evaluation.
-
Step 5
Join dentistry forums and do your research on the internet. Join support groups if you feel nervous. PRAY and remember whatever choice you make, make sure its something you wont regret!
