Things You'll Need:

  • a new pool lighting product
  • above ground pool
  1. Step 1

Try out a floating pool light. These lights are the easiest way to light your pool inexpensively. There are many different products to choose from. The lower end models will cost you around $20 dollars but often come up short in providing enough light. There is a product called a glow buoy that is rechargeable and provides much more light than smaller battery floating lights.

  2. Step 2

Install a hanging pool light. These products simply hang over the side of your pool and install easily with a few screws. These pool lights are priced slightly higher than the floating versions but they are easy to install and allow you to change the color of your pool water with lens attatchments. They also come in variable watt bulb sizes.

  3. Step 3

Attatch a pool light to your water return hole. Pentair has a product that fits into your existing return fitting. It provides a high amount of light using little electricity but it can be harder to install having more parts than other pool lighting options. It is also one of the more expensive (costs $130)pool lighting products on the market.
