Step 1
Check for eligibility requirements in your state. Tonik insurance is unique and affordable because it takes into account that healthy adults tend to use preventive health care services which cost less. Currently Tonik health insurance is only offered in six states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Nevada and New Hampshire. The entire application process will take about 15 minutes. Depending on your health circumstances, you may even receive immediate approval.
-
Step 2
You may apply for Tonik health insurance online (see resource section) or talk directly to a licensed Blue Cross Tonic health professional. Review the three Tonik insurance plan offerings. With names designed to appeal to active adults, Blue Cross Tonik plans include generic drug coverage, preventative care, routine doctor visits as well as medical coverage for emergency and hospital visits. According to Blue Cross Tonik plan descriptions, The Thrill Seeker Tonik health plan is designed for active adults who live life on the edge; The Part-time Daredevil Tonik health plan appeals to adults who play hard and safe; and The Calculated Risk Taker Tonik health plan is for active adults who have a well-thought out walk on the wild side. None of the Tonik health plans include maternity benefits or brand name drug coverage.
-
Step 3
Determine which Tonik insurance plan is right for you. Rates for coverage depend on the state in which you live and the plan you choose. Each plan has a different monthly insurance premium, deductible for certain medical conditions, co-payment and number of regular office visits. In Georgia and Colorado, rates can be as low as $70 per month. Other states tend to have a higher rate minimum; in any event, you should get an insurance quote to determine the exact monthly cost you would have to pay.
-
Step 4
Complete the Blue Cross Tonik application process. Make sure you have available your social security number, previous health insurance coverage details, medical history and current prescription information before starting the application process, although you can stop the process at any time and pick up where you left off at your leisure.
