Things You'll Need:
- Meditation
- Faith
- Research

Step 1
Be bitten by a werewolf. In the Kelly Armstrong series Women of the Otherworld, it only takes one bite for the virus to be transmitted. Not all those who are bitten survive the transformation. Many werewolves in Armstrong’s series are hereditary, which means they are born with the werewolf gene marking them a separate, genetically viable species. Patricia Brigg’s werewolves on the other hand must be savaged unto death for the virus to begin working. Those who can survive will, but may not be mentally stable after the process. Neither of these is recommended for people to actually try.

Step 2
Consult a Native American shaman. Many of the plains tribes embrace the animal totems and spirit guides. Consulting with Native American shamans and storytellers can help put the seeker on the right path to discovering their wolf brother spirit guide.
-
Step 3
Meditate on the power of the wolf. To become a wolf is to accept the wolf’s nature in essence as well as in form. Wolves are loyal, they protect their pack and they mate for life. The wolf is a strong hunter, dedicated to family and raising their young. Whether alpha, beta or omega, the wolves of the pack work together and follow the simple pecking order for the betterment of the pack.
-
Step 4
Study wolves. Wolves in nature are beautiful creatures, but they are often misunderstood. Take the time to really learn about them. While werewolves and wolves are not exactly the same, the simple pure wolf in nature can be an educational experience for modern men and women.
-
Step 5
Visualize yourself as the wolf. Visualization is similar to meditation, but you actively control your visualization. Close your eyes and listen to your senses. Visualize how your wolf side would handle problems. Do not rely strictly on the violent solutions because wolves are predators, but man is by far the more bloodthirsty of the two and rarely do animals hunt for sport. Use visualization and meditation to truly touch the inner wolf within.
