First step in putting together a live fish bait tank is getting small horse trough. Make sure it is clean and doesn't have any kind of chemicals that will be harmful to your baitfish.

Second step is putting a small aerator pump in your trough. I start with placing my aerator pump on top of a concrete block turned up on its end. This works perfectly for my tank. You may have to adjust the height of your aerator so that you are shooting your water up into the air and making bubbles(air for your fish). You also have to make sure your impeller always has water going to it. You can also put your aerator in deeper water if you attach a hose to shoot your water above the surface.

Now, you are ready to fill with water. If you fill with tap water, you will need to allow a few days(about a week) for the chlorine to disapate so it is safe for your bait. I usually just let mine fill with rain water. They say, "Poor people have poor ways." I guess that is true, but this works. I hope this works for you too!
