This Mother's Day, why not pay tribute to Mom, so others can celebrate her life as well?

Mother's Day can be very tough for those that have lost their mothers. Celebrate her legacy with memorial gifts. In this way, you allow others to celebrate her memory, and continue her legacy of love.

Instructions

1. 

   Pay tribute to Mom through your local Children's Home. Books or pictures can be placed there in her memory. For books, use labels to write a sentiment of her honor. A picture could be as simple as a mother rocking a child. You can buy small plaques and have a memorial sentiment engraved.

2. 

   Donate to the pregnancy center. Another great way to offer tribute to Mom and her life is through the local Pregnancy Center. Most communities have at least one, if not many.

   Buy a picture to place in the center, blankets or diapers for babies. Write tags on these "Honoring a Great Mother...." Let that soon to be mom know the supplies are being donated by someone that had a wonderful mother.

3. 

   Donate something to the church. There are several ways to pay tribute to Mom at church. Have the florist arrange Mom's favorite flowers and place in the sanctuary or vestibule, with a card "In Memory of ..."

   If your mother was an active church member, what better way to pay tribute than place several Bibles in the local hospital or in the hands of the hospice?

4. 

   Plant a tree. Celebrate mom's life by planting a tree in a public place, such as the park.

   Buy a memorial plaque to place in front of it. Make sure to get permission from the city before planting a tree. See the resources at the bottom for the website.

5. 

   Donate to a local park. The local park is a wonderful place for a memorial tribute to mom. Flowers, a park bench, or stepping stones make good memorial pieces. If you do not have a park close by, consider the public library.

6. 

   Write a tribute to mom for the local newspaper. A poem or a sentiment from your heart offers great testament to your mother's life. Have it published in the paper closest to Mother's Day.

7. 

   Donate to her industry. Did mom love to read? Donate a favorite book title to the Public Library.

   Was she a teacher? Place her best photo in the school she taught at. Did she work at a textile mill? Place her photo in the office with a memorial plaque, honoring her legacy.
