For example, if you are opening a stock brokerage account you can compare similar options and see which one seems faster or shorter. If you are answering surveys for money you might pick the ones that say they will take a shorter time to complete. These very often pay the same than longer ones.
As for the "data", what I mean here is that you might consider having pertinent information at hand that you might need, such as your driver licence, social security number, the type of account you want to open, etc... -
