Things You'll Need:
- lawnmower -pushmower works fine
- your hands
-
Step 1
Let your grass grow up to 6 inches
-
Step 2
Weed your garden for the last time, in a while anyway. After you carry out these few steps, you will not need to weed for a very long time.
-
Step 3
push-mowerMow your lawn either using a push-mower or a regular lawnmower. Depending on how large an area your lawn takes up, you may repeat this process in a week.
-
Step 4
Use the grass from your mowed lawn to mulch your garden. When mulching, mulch about a foot high of fresh grass clippings. Thoroughly cover the base of the 'good' plants in your garden. The foot high of mulch will sink considerably in just a few weeks. No sunlight will be able to reach the ground, so no weeds will be able to grow.

on 4/22/2009 Not only does grass clippings make great mulch, clippings are great for building up the soil. Earthworms love them! Great article, great plan!
