Anyone with multiple cats in their home knows the hassle of constantly changing the litter box. Here is a simple way to change the little fast and easy! You can do this in less than one minute! Your cats will love you for it!!!!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • litter pan
  • your regular litter
  • 33 gallon trash bags (without handles)
  • box of baking powder
  • cats
  1. Step 1

Start with a completely empty and CLEAN litter pan. Sprinkle approximately 2 teaspoons of baking soda along the inside bottom of the empty pan. Shake the pan so that the powder will dust over the bottom.

  2. Step 2

Open the 33 gallon plastic trash bag and slip the pan into the bag. Push the pan to the bottom of the bag so that you can press the side of the bag down into the pan.

  3. Step 3

Tuck the excess bag (sides and open top end) completely under the litter pan.

  4. Step 4

Add litter to the bag covered pan. Make sure to spread the litter evenly in the pan. You can do this by smoothing it out with a shovel or your hand... this should be CLEAN litter. The plastic should be smoothly aligned along the bottom and the inside walls of the pan. NOTICE: If the bag can not easily like flat against the bottom and along the walls of the pan, you may need to use a 39 gallon plastic bag!

  5. Step 5

If you typically use a litter pan cover, you can place it on the pan at this time. Now wait for the cats to do their thing.

  6. Step 6

When it is time for you to change the litter, simply pull the opening portion of the bag from the bottom SLOWLY toward the back of the pan. Make sure there are no rips or holes! Then lift up on the bag as it inverts itself making the litter fall into the bottom of the bag. Viola... tie the bag off and dispose of the litter filled bag as you see fit!

  7. Step 7

Check/clean any litter that may have gotten into the bottom of the pan. Change/add baking soda if needed. Cover the pan with a new bag as done in step 1. Excellent... You cats will be very grateful!

Tips & Warnings
  • Using the bags is best when your kitties have no front nails. For those with cats that are not declawed, use the newspaper lining method for cat litter challenges found in eHow articles.
  • Don't use bags with handles of any kind. There should be nothing dangling or hanging out that would be a danger to the kitties!
  • Change the litter frequently! Multiple cat homes using one pan need daily changes or possible health issues or unfavorable habits may occur due to the dirty litter!
