Set up your home theater system and what you really need

what you learn is how to hook up you surround sound system the right way with less wiring, this is only for people who use AV-RECEIVER like Sony, demon ect. With hdmi outputs and 5.1 to 7.1 surround sound 2 zone receivers

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1, flat screen high def tv
  • 2, AV unit SONY str-es
  • 3, cable or satelite provider high def only
  • 4,Blue-ray DVD player
  • 5, 3 HDMI wires
  • 6, center channel speaker
  • 7, left and right speaker
  • 8, in home subwoffer
  1. Step 1

    Here what you do first set everything up where you want it to go your flat screen, your AV receiver , your high def provider box, and your blu-ray player, and what ever else you have. speakers center and left and right as well as your sub.

  2. Step 2

    now that all is in its place ,take one of your HDMI wires and place one end in the back of your input in your tv HDMI 1, take the other end and place it in the back of the AV-unit monitor in.
    ok the first step is done make sure your tv is set to the input you entered the HDMI wire to.

  3. Step 3

    your high def provider make sure this box is receiving a signal from its source , now that that is in place pick up one HDMI wire and place it in the back of your high def box and take the other end and place it in the back of your AV-unit ,video 1 or tv-sat input.

  4. Step 4

    Your Blu-ray player is next , take a HDMI wire and place one end in the back of your blu-ray palyer and take the other end and place it in the back off your AV-unit video 2, or dvd input hdmi.

  5. Step 5

    now hook up your speakers your center channel wire to the back of your AV-unit , you will see it say center , and then do your l.f , left front speaker, now your r.f right front, now that that done pick up a rca wire and insert the red end to the sub output of the rear of the AV-amp unit, take the other end and plug it into the input red off the sub, dont worry about the white you dont need it.

  6. Step 6

    now all your equipment is hook up 3.1 at the moment, plug all your stuff to a good surge protector, turn you AV system on and your flat screen as well as your high-def provider box. now make sure your tv is on the right source where you install the hdmi wire to and turn the AV-unit to video 1 or tv-sat where you install the other end off the wire to ..Now you be able to see a picture and sound on your screen .
    Do the same thing for the blu-ray but all you have to do for that is change the source on the AV-unit to video 2 or dvd. and press play.

  7. Step 7

    This is it guys its all set , do you have rear speaker well install them now its just like the front ones but the need to be behind you about 6 feet apart from each other no more no less depending on the room.
    A sony receiver is better as it has 2 zone to do 2 things at once like play music some where else in your home and easy to use...

  8. Step 8

    now you have all these remote next project , buy a harmony one remote and program it wwith your laptop its super easy .and your wife will love it one remote .

Tips & Warnings
  • buy a sony str-es model av unit its the best
  • use hdmi wire it sound great and look better and less wires
  • buy a logitect harmony remote
  • make sure your AV-unit amp can breath nothing on top of it , it needs air for longer life as well as the cable box.install cooling fans
