Step 1
The first step is to increase the salmon in your diet. A very easy way to do this is to substitute canned salmon for tuna fish when you make sandwiches. You can also throw a slice on the grill and often have a great piece of fish in less than 15 minutes.
-
Step 2
Next increase your intake of milk. However, realize that not all milk is created equal. Look on the cow, goat, soy, rice, and almond milk content lists to make sure that they are fortified with vitamin D. The same holds true for milk products such as yogurt, cream cheese, and cottage cheese.
-
Step 3
Now look at the cereal you eat. Many such as raisin bran tend to have significant vitamin D but not all cereal does.
-
Step 4
If all else fails, consider adding a vitamin supplement.

on 3/30/2009 I find it impossible to get my daily dose of Vitamin D from diet alone. I shoot for 1000-2000 IU per day and that is way too many glasses of milk, etc. I found a great liquid supplement from Wellesse (www.wellesse.com). I now give it to my whole family and with now pills to swallow the little ones do great with it. Not to mention I get reminded for Vitamin Time because it tastes so good.
