Instructions

    • 1

With technology today, you can pick up a DVD recorder/player relatively cheap. This would be plugged into your television system the same as a regular DVD player.

    • 2

Check your camera or 8mm player and locate the Audio/Video output jacks. There are several different types of jacks depending on brands, so look for the A/V output or just "output" jacks. Then find the appropriate cable for the output which should have come with your unit.

    • 3

Now plug the opposite end of the output cable into the "Input" jacks on the DVD recording unit, making sure the "video" and "audio" cables go into the corresponding jacks. Yellow is video, red and white are right and left video. If you only have one audio plug, put it in the white input.

    • 4

Now insert the recordable DVD into the recorder and begin recording while playing the 8mm through your camera or other device. If all of your connections are correct, you should be able to see the video on your television. The proper flow should be: Camera Output --> Recorder Input; Recorder Output --> TV Input.

Tips & Warnings

  • Most owner's manuals will outline various wiring configurations, consult yours if you run into a bind.
