Things You'll Need:
- Hotmail account
-
Step 1
Decide what type of Email signature you'd like. If you would simply like it to be the closing, such as, "From Amber Dawn," move on to step 2. However, if you don't have a signature in mind, you can look up famous quotes that suit you, or even ASCII art. ASCII art is simply characters on your keyboard that are arranged to look like a picture. The simplest ASCII art are emoticons such as: :) which looks like a sideways smile. There are more complex ASCII art creations that you can find online. Once you have decided on an Email signature, proceed to step 2.
-
Step 2
On the right, click "Options" for Hotmail. Most other Email programs will have a similarly titled menu option.
-
Step 3
At the bottom of the dialogue menu, click "more options."
-
Step 4
This brings you to a page that has three headings. Under the "Customize your mail" heading, click "Personal e-mail signature."
-
Step 5
This brings you to another page in Hotmail that looks a little like a blank Email that you would compose, but it's actually the box you'll use when you want to add a signature to Email. Notice that your signature is limited to text (of various sizes, colors, and fonts), links, and standard emoticons. Type the phrase you like, and use the buttons above the box to change the colors, fonts, and size. And you're finished! That's how to add a signature to Email.
