The Swiss invented fondue in the 1700s, when they needed to make their hardened cheeses edible. Melting was the obvious solution. Now fondue can be made from countless cheese mixtures, oils, and broths; but the most tantalizing fondue is made from chocolate. Here's how to make chocolate fondue:

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Pour 1 cup heavy whipping cream in a medium-sized pan. Cook for 3-5 minutes over medium-low heat. Do not allow the fondue to boil.

  2. Step 2

Add 12oz. chopped semi-sweet chocolate and stir until just melted. Use either 1 tsp. vanilla extract or 3tbsp. orange liqueur for flavor.

  3. Step 3

For the white chocolate marble recipe, just sprinkle 3oz. white chocolate over the fondue, then swirl a knife around to create designs.

  4. Step 4

Serve with strawberries, bananas, apple chunks, brownies, and pound cake. There's very little chance you'll have leftovers with this recipe.

  5. Step 5

Make sure everyone at the table knows proper fondue etiquette. This should keep them all content and prevent germs from spreading.
