YouTube allows you to watch homemade videos from around the world directly in your Internet browser. You may want to download a video from YouTube to watch later. You can do that by first downloading an add-on for your Firefox or Internet Explorer browser.

Instructions

  1. Firefox

    • 1

      Go to addons.mozilla.org and type "Download YouTube Videos + Flash Video Downloader" into the search box.

      Click the link with the matching title in the list of results.

      Click the "Add to Firefox" button to install the add-on to Firefox on your machine.

      Navigate to the YouTube video you want to download and click the "Save Video" option near your browser's address bar.

    Internet Explorer

      Go to the YouTube Downloader add-on download page at ieaddons.com/addons/detail.aspx?id=442.

      Click the "Add to Internet Explorer" button.

    • 7

      Locate the YouTube video you want to download and copy its URL from your browser address bar.

      Launch the YouTube Downloader and paste the URL into the "Enter video URL" field.

      Click the radio button next to "Download video from YouTube" and click "OK."
