Step 1
1. Spring Clean
Polish, dust and vacuum every part of your home until you remove all the dirt and dust that may have accumulated during the winter months. Not only will this clear away potentially irritating allergens but will refresh your home. -
Step 2
Have a clear out.
Go through piles of papers, your closet and cupboards and see if there are items you can get rid of to de-clutter your home creating more space for summer activities. -
Step 3
3. Clear the backlog.
Spend some time getting through the list of things you have put off through the winter, bill pay, writing letters or any tasks that you haven’t got around to yet. You’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment as well as a weight lifted. -
Step 4
Reorganize.
It can be nice to move things around once in a while. Whether it is changing artwork in the house, moving pieces of furniture or changing rooms around; changing things around helps keep things fresh and new. -
Step 5
5. Grow.
Plant some bulbs, a small home garden or even just some basic herbs. Spring is all about the beginning of a new cycle and nothing reflects this better than planting a seed that you can see grow. Even if you don’t have a garden or green fingers, you can grow basic herbs in your window sill very easily indeed, such as mint or dill. -
Step 6
Get to know your seasonal foods.
Spring through mid-autumn is a great time for seasonal fruits and vegetables and if you know what is in season when, you can make some wonderful foods. -
Step 7
Spend time in the kitchen
Spring is a great time to cook meals that you can freeze for times during the summer that you just don’t feel like cooking. It’s also a great time to try out new recipes with your seasonal fruit and vegetables. -
Step 8
Bring home flowers.
Flowers are just starting to bloom and nothing says spring like fresh cut flowers in a vase. As well as smelling wonderful, they brighten up a home or a mood very simply. -
Step 9
And finally, enjoy!
For those who live in colder climates, winter can be tough and long so spring is a very welcome relief. Don’t be too busy to literally stop and smell the flowers.
