Many people know that spring cleaning is a time to get the whole house clean, neat, and organized for the summer. But what about apartment dwellers? While you can still clean and reorganize your dwelling, there are some extra tips to consider in order to get your apartment ready for spring.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • cleaning supplies
  • organizing boxes or crates
  1. Step 1

Make a list of all the areas you want to clean. This can help you decide on who gets what area, or if you live alone, what areas you want to tackle first.

  2. Step 2

Prepare your supplies ahead of time. Many people start their spring cleaning without realizing how many cleaning products they will need.

  3. Step 3

Use this time to reorganize. This tip is especially important for those with small apartments. Go through all drawers, cabinets, closets and other storage areas. Get rid of anything that you don’t use or plan to use by the end of the year.

  4. Step 4

Spring cleaning is a great time to have maintenance checks as well. If your apartment complex or landlord does not have a scheduled maintenance inspection for the spring, call them up and ask them to check all smoke detectors, change light bulbs, and clean out maintenance closets where your water heater and furnace are located.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take the time to properly store away any winter clothes when spring cleaning, but make sure to leave out a few essentials just in case.
