How to Replace the Wax Ring under the Toilet
If you have tested your toilet for a leak and find that you have one coming from the bottom of the toilet in the bathroom. It is probably the wax ring. Does this Spark an idea?

After testing to see if you have a leak and you want to try to do it yourself if money is tight or to save money calling a plumber here are some easy steps to help you do it.

First turn off the water that runs water to the toilet. It is usually located under the back of the toilet on the wall.

Flush your toilet to make sure all water is removed from the toilet.

Unscrew the bolt on each side of the toilet and set aside.

Remove the toilet being careful not to drop it since this will be heavy.

Remove the old wax ring and install the new one.

Put your toilet back into place and take your bolts and screw them back on the toilet base. Sometimes it is better to replace them if they are all rusted out.

Turn your water back on and let the toilet fill. Do the food coloring test to make sure there are no leak. The leak test is listed in resources below. Make sure the leak has stopped.
