Although Dallas Zoo provides coupons, promotional discounts are much more prevalent. You can obtain these deals by purchasing a recreation or transit pass, being a member of the armed forces or a senior, and by visiting the zoo with a large group. Depending on the discount you receive, you can save almost half off regular ticket prices.
The Dallas Zoo doesn't routinely make coupons available to customers. It prefers to provide deals through discount offers. However, it's still a good idea to check for coupons every now and then as they are sometimes available. Two good places to look are online via Groupon and Visit Dallas websites.
One of the major ways Dallas Zoo provides a discount to customers is through the Dallas CityPASS. You can purchase one online and have the pass emailed to you or have the paper form mailed to you. Included in the pass are tickets to the Dallas Zoo at up to 41 percent off the regular admission price.
When you purchase the Dallas CityPASS, you also get budget-friendly discounts to other attractions, including Perot Museum of Nature and Science, Reunion Tower Geo-Deck, Sixth Floor Museum, GWB Presidential Library and Museum, and Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. You also have the option of purchasing your CityPASS at one of these locations, including the Dallas Zoo.
DART Pass, Servicemembers and Seniors
If you travel to the zoo via DART on either Monday or Tuesday, Dallas Zoo will take $2 off your ticket price. Just show your DART pass when you arrive at the ticket counter. Military personnel also get $2 off admission by showing their military identification card. This discount is good for up to two adults and two children. The $2 DART Pass and military discount is not available during the months of January and February, when zoo admission is $5. On Wednesdays, seniors 65 or older get into the zoo for $5 under the Senior Safari Wednesdays program.
Another way to get a great discount to the Dallas Zoo is to travel with a large group. So long as you give the zoo two weeks' advance notice and have a party of at least 15 people, your admission price will be slashed up to 42 percent off. Call Dallas Zoo at (469) 554-7470 to make your reservation. If your group will consist of students or is part of an education-related organization, such as a daycare program or YMCA, complete a reservation form and return it to 650 S. R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75203, by fax to (469) 554-7382 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions, call the Education Office at (469) 554-7300.
Generally, the Dallas Zoo doesn't accept coupons from third party vendors, especially online coupon sharing sites like RetailMeNot. Prior to buying or using any coupon you didn't receive from Dallas Zoo, verify the coupon's authenticity by calling Dallas Zoo at (469) 554-7500. If Dallas Zoo doesn't accept the coupon, you will be turned away at the door unless you're willing to pay the full admission price.
