Does she have a sluggish metabolism? Probably not.

It's no big secret that many of us struggle with weight gain. Part of our weight gain epidemic is due to the fact that we've KILLED our metabolisms with fad diets and gimmicky weight loss pills. Believe it or not, increasing your metabolism is not a difficult and many people believe it to be. If you follow these few easy tips, you'll be burning calories like a champ in no time!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Eating 5 or 6 meals smaller meals per day will help boost your metabolism. Skipping meals will only slow the metabolism further down – this is why starvation diets DON’T work!

  2. Step 2

Exercise daily. Whether it is running on the treadmill or walking the dog, movement is the all important factor to boosting metabolism.

  3. Step 3

Strength train on a regular basis. Metabolism will increase when you build your muscles. As a result, more calories will be burned per day. Strength training doesn’t mean body building, resistance exercise of any kind will help build muscle.

  4. Step 4

Stay hydrated by drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water per day – no exception. However, you may add Crystal Light or lemon juice for flavor.

  5. Step 5

Limit your alcohol and sugar intake. If you plan to drink, choose clear liquor with diet soda. And of course, watch the sweets.

  6. Step 6

Snack on high nutritional foods. That means, skip the cookie and get the carrots instead. You don’t have to deprive yourself, but your choices should more often be SMART and less often indulgent.
