Roses are one of the most popular wedding bouquet flowers. They are beautiful and have a wonderful scent. There are two main types of rose bouquets that you can make. One is made in a bouquet holder and the other is a hand tied or arm bouquet. You can have as few as a half dozen roses to more than two dozen rose in a wedding bouquet. Bouquets can be made to meet any budget.
Silk and real roses are appropriate for weddings.

  • Bouquet holder
  • Wire cutter
  • Sharp knife or stem cutters

Instructions

  1. Hand Tied or Arm Bouquet

      Select fresh or silk roses in the color of your choice.

      Place the roses on a clean work surface. Remove excess leaves, thorns and any outer petals that have a torn edge or brown spot.

      Cut the stems of real flowers on a slant. Cut the roses to keep the stems at the same length.

      Tie a small piece of ribbon near the top of the stems to secure the bouquet.

      Wrap ribbon tightly down the entire set of stems. Wrap back up the stems in the opposite direction. Tie a knot at the top of the stems to secure the ribbon.

      Set bouquet holder into a vase to keep your hands free to work.

      Cut several roses to 4 or 5-inch lengths.

      Place one rose in the very center of the bouquet holder foam.

      Place four more roses around the top and bottom of the holder foam.

      Place pieces of greenery around the outside edges of the foam.

      Add more roses until the foam is filed in with roses and greenery. You can mix sweetheart rose in with regular sized roses.

      Add baby's breath, stephanotis, pearl or rhinestone sprays throughout the bouquet if desired.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check the bouquet in a mirror. View all sides to make sure there are no gaps or misshapen areas.
