How to Make Designer Hats for Church

Set up a free CafePress account (See Resources Below.) Go to the main page of the CafePress website and register for a free account. Under the free account you can upload up to 50 designs. A premium account costs under $10 per month and will allow an unlimited number of designs.

Set up a free version of Adobe Photoshop onto your PC computer. You can access a free version of Photoshop at Soft32 (See Resources Below.) On the main page of Soft32 there will be a blue link called "Download Photoshop." Click on the link and the download will begin. Within 5 minutes the Adobe Photoshop program will be ready to use.

Create a new file within Photoshop. At the top of the Photoshop screen there will be a word called "File." Click on "File" and then click on "New." A pop-up window will appear. Enter in 3 inches for the height, and 3 inches for the width. Enter in 300 DPI for the resolution. Click "OK."

Design your text. Click on the big "T" in the tool box. Click on your image and hold the left mouse button down, dragging a square marquee box wherever you want the text to go. Click inside the marquee box and begin typing. At the top of the Photoshop screen you can select specific font types, font colors, and font sizes. When you are finished with your image, save the image file. Click on "File" again and select "Save As." name you file and save it in "JPEG" format.

Upload the image to CafePress. Login to your CafePress account, and click on the link called "Manage Sections and Products." Upload the design you created using the CafePress image loader. Once the image is loaded, select the type of hat you would like to put it on. When you are ready to order, click on the link called "Order From Your Own Shop."
