A cork board is a great way to hold up notes, advertisements and other temporary messages. Most cork boards are made out of flat sheets of cork, but you can make one out of wine corks for a more interesting look.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Frame
  • Corks
  • Glue
  • Poster tape
  • Thumbtacks
  1. Step 1

Get a sturdy picture frame with a strong backing. Collect a bunch of natural wine corks. Wine corks are small, so you probably want a frame that is about 1 foot on each side so you can fill it up pretty easily.

  2. Step 2

Fill the frame with corks. You can arrange them in pairs alternately pointing vertically and horizontally as in the image above, have them all pointing in the same direction or arrange them in any other way you want. Don't be afraid to pack them in tightly.

  3. Step 3

Remove one cork and put glue on the back of it. Put it down so that the glue holds it to the back of the frame. Continue gluing corks down until everything is anchored in place.

  4. Step 4

Mount the board on the wall. One easy way to do this is with some double-sided poster tape. Put a square of tape on each corner of the frame backing and several in the middle. Then stick the board to the wall. Poke some thumbtacks into the corks to use for messages.
