Pieces of steak cut from the sirloin section of the cow are generally not known for their tenderness. However, there are a variety of cooking methods that can take these sometimes tough cuts and transform them into tender meals. A London Broil steak is prepared by using one of these methods. A London Broil refers to a cut of flank steak that is seasoned and marinated before grilling to achieve ultimate tenderness. Though the difference in taste and texture between a plain cut of flank steak and a London Broil steak can be great, the process of preparing a London Broil steak is relatively simple.
