Disinfecting your makeup brushes is often a task many people don’t think about when cleaning. Germs cling to the bristles or foam of the makeup brushes every time you use them. Disinfect your brushes after about 20 or 25 uses. If you use the brushes and have an infection, like pink eye, throw away the brushes to avoid spreading the germs. Vinegar and antiseptic wipes kill germs without damaging the brushes.

Throw away the antiseptic wipe. Leave the brush to dry for at least 12 hours before using. Using the brush when it's wet can cause the alcohol in the wipe to get into your eyes and burn them.
